Getting in
- Defeat Aetherion in the Astral Expanse to claim Riftcore.
- Craft a Wardstone first — you will need it to survive (see below).
- Craft the Abyssal Sigil (Riftcore + Astral Compass + Aether Heart) and right-click it to descend.
- The Sigil lays a small umbral-stone landing on arrival, and carries you back out the same way.
Abyssal Corruption
The depths themselves are hostile. Roughly every four seconds, any adventurer without a Wardstone in their inventory takes creeping magic damage plus Darkness, Weakness, and Mining Fatigue. Reaching the realm is not enough — you must come prepared.
What you will find
- Fast, deadly Void Stalkers and tanky Abyssal Wraiths that haunt the dark.
- Umbral Stone to mine — the realm's build material and the key to summoning its king.
- The true endgame boss, the Abyssal Sovereign, called forth with an Abyssal Catalyst.
Blocks & spoils
| Item | Source / use |
|---|---|
| Umbral Stone | Mined in the depths; builds platforms and the Abyssal Catalyst |
| Riftcore | Dropped by Aetherion and the Sovereign; gates the Sigil, Wardstone-free crafting, and Abyssal gear |
| Abyssal Core | The Sovereign's signature drop; smelts into Abyssal Ingots for endgame gear |
| Sovereign Trophy | A glowing monument dropped by the Sovereign |
The summoned king
The Abyssal Sovereign does not roam — you summon it deliberately. Craft an Abyssal Catalyst (Umbral Stone around a Riftcore) and use it inside the depths to call the boss a short distance ahead. It refuses to work anywhere else, so the fight can never be cheesed in the overworld.
